LinkedIn: Make this one change to get more connections approved

Do you send connection requests that get ignored? You may be making this common mistake!

On LinkedIn, when you want to connect someone, don’t click Connect.

Instead, go to the Personalize Invite option (under the 3 dots/ellipses/…) on their page.

It allows you to write up to 300 characters to that person explaining WHY you want to connect. Personally, I don’t accept invites from strangers unless there’s a message.

If I have to wonder why someone connected with me, it’s unlikely I’ll actually connect. Don't make your connection have to guess why you want to connect--just tell them!
